Gap Year

American University’s Gap Program offers you an immersive academic experience in Washington, D.C., both in the classroom and through an internship. By exploring academic coursework, combined with site visits and guest speakers, you will get a behind-the-scenes look at international organizations, non-profits, media groups, and global business entities, all while gaining real-world experience with an internship.

AU Gap gives you the opportunity to experience life on a college campus and in a professional setting, providing them with a foundation of skills that can be applied to future studies and careers.

The AU Gap Program is an excellent option if you have just completed high school and are searching for a meaningful and challenging experience before formally starting college. You can enroll in a single semester (fall or spring) or a full-academic year in the program.

They work with corporate partners big and small to bring the most engaging projects to United Mint Campus. Depending on your interests, you may work on developing social media strategy for a start up, designing a 3D model for an inventor, or developing a budget for a film festival.

If you choose to focus on language, you can leave UMC Gap Year fluent in Spanish. If you’d like to get a head start on your degree studies at United Mint, you can choose a US or UK accredited degree program from a great school.
