Meet Athletic Trainer Annie Thatcher-Stephens

Annie Thatcher-Stephens is excited to join the Alameda High school team as a certified athletic trainer and sports medicine teacher.  A California native, she recently moved back to the Bay Area after completing her Masters of Science in Athletic Training at Seton Hall University in New Jersey.

While at Seton Hall, Annie worked at Ridgewood High School, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Princeton University.  Her favorite teams at Princeton were men's and women's rugby and men's lacrosse. Prior to attending grad school, Annie was a student athletic trainer with the City College of San Francisco Rams and worked for 9 years as a certified strength and conditioning coach at the YMCA of San Francisco. While at the YMCA she developed and implemented youth health and wellness after-school programs working with San Francisco public schools.

Annie came to athletic training after growing up as a young athlete and dancer, and a professional dancer in the Bay Area. She looks forward to helping the student athletes at Alameda High School stay healthy and rehab their injuries when they happen.
