Who are we?
We are a program with a history of 15 years at Alameda High School. We offer 9th and 12th English classes and blocked history and English at the 10th and 11th grade levels. Our mission now is to forge a community that is making itself aware of the local and global inequities that we face in the 21st century.
Mission Statement and Goals
Our Borrowed Motto ⇒Think Globally; Act Locally
What's New in the Academy? Cloud computing!
In the picture below, Mr. Carman and members of the Junior class are showing off our Computers on Wheels—our COW! The Academy’s six instructors will roll the COW among our classrooms. Complete with wifi, webcams, and Google Docs—our Chromebooks are our window to the internet and the world of productivity and information. Sites For Chrome Browsers and Chromebooks
Students are using Chromebooks that run on Chrome OS, a new operating system that turns computers into internet gateways with no hard drive use. We recommend that students download Google's Chrome browser so that they can synchronize their accounts at home with their Chromebook portals. Students sign on to the Chromebooks using their Google accounts, their gmail user ID's and passwords. At a later date, we may issue AUSD domain user ID's through Google Apps for Education. For now, students can use their own individual accounts and teachers will provide Internet sites for uploading work for review or printing purposes.
Click on the sites below to upload your work. If you can't log on, you don't have permissions to these private sites. See your instructor for help.
Instructor Mobile Lab Scheduling
