What is YEAH?

YEAH stands for Youth Educating and Advocating for Health. It is a peer education program facilitated by Alameda Family Services School-Based Health Centers (Tri-High). The participants learn about various health topics during weekly meetings that they turn into interactive workshops. During the spring semester the peer educators create an event on campus on a specific health topic of their choosing. The peer educators act as leaders, advocated and SBHC representatives. Participants learn the importance of encouraging healthy behaviors among their peers and acting as advocates for peers who may not have a voice. Participation is a year long commitment with a multitude of benefits.

Who can join?

Students at Alameda High School can apply in the fall semester by filling out an application at the School-Based Health Center (Tri-High).

What do students get out of it?

Students not only get to meet new people on campus, become involved in something at school, boost their resume as well as college applications but also they recieve a stipend ($) as well, every semester for their participation.
