What is YEAH?
YEAH stands for Youth Educating and Advocating for Health. It is a peer education program facilitated by Alameda Family Services School-Based Health Centers (Tri-High). The participants learn about various health topics during weekly meetings that they turn into interactive workshops. During the spring semester the peer educators create an event on campus on a specific health topic of their choosing. The peer educators act as leaders, advocated and SBHC representatives. Participants learn the importance of encouraging healthy behaviors among their peers and acting as advocates for peers who may not have a voice. Participation is a year long commitment with a multitude of benefits.
