It is with great sadness that I am writing to let our community know of the passing of one of our students, Clay Harding, this past weekend. Clay was a beloved member of our school community. Our thoughts and hearts are with his family and all who knew him.
Throughout Thanksgiving recess, grief counseling and support is available to anyone who feels the need. If you want speak to someone in processing this tragedy you can reach out by calling Alameda Family Services at 510-629-6300 ext. 0 and request support for the incident at AHS. You can also text SAFE to the Teen Texting Hotline at 839863. Finally, you can call Crisis Support Services 24 hour hotline at 1-800-843-5200. No one in pain should have to deal with this by themselves. Please reach out for help if you need it. Starting on Monday, December 1, when school resumes, extensive grief counseling and support will be available on campus. Please encourage your children to use these supports if they need it.
